Field Trip

Day out with School

Today on our field trip I learnt an interesting fact about trees. I learnt that A single 30-meter-tall mature tree can absorb as much as 22.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide in a year, which over it’s lifetime is approximately the same amount as would be produced by an average car being driven 41,500 kilometers. The same tree could also produce 2,721 kilograms of oxygen in a year, which is enough to support at least two people.

Farming in New Zealand

Dairy Farming

Today I learnt about farming in New Zealand. Dairy cattle were first imported by European settlers in the early 19th Century to provide milk, butter and cheese for local supply.
